I’ve been eying this cake as my birthday cake for almost a month and I almost gave up on the whole idea because of some poor planning. Basically, I requested off for the wrong days and now i have to juggle the HP midnight showing, an 8 am to 4 pm work shift and an 8 pm birthday dinner plan (essentially I won’t be sleeping more than an hour or two at a time between 8pm thursday night and sometime early saturday morning), followed by a family day on saturday. Exhausting, right? And it’s all my fault so I decided to suck it up and say, “fuck it,” and bake the cake a couple days before my birthday.
I just finished the lemon curd about an hour ago and I’m about to start on the orange lemon icing. Tomorrow I will bake the cake. I wish I could post my own pictures but I still don’t have a working camera. I hope that it ends up looking somewhat like the one above (though it will be smaller, 8 inch diameter instead of 10).
